Whale Fall

Fat is oozing from her bones and dissipating into the muted yellow gas around her. Apart from her face and head, she is sinew and bone only. Her skin is gone. Clams and mussels suckle themselves onto what remains of her body and drink in the gas. Sea snails creep across the floor and find a patch of bone not yet claimed to settle on.
